This is one of the most puzzling tasks for the newbie. We've slowed this one down to help you get a better look at how it works.
Shaping a pizza
Another one of the puzzling tasks for the pizza novice: how to stretch the dough and make the pizza round. A lot of people don't care about the round part. I admit, I do. It divides more easily and equitably among your diners, it looks good, and it feels like even more of an accomplishment. And know this: you will probably have a challenge getting them completely round. Don't worry about it. You'll make it round enough until you make it rounder.
Note the dimpling inside the circumference of the video. I've seen some pros do this. While I don't always do it, it can be a useful practice at the beginning. I like doing it because it gives what will be the cornicone, or the puffy outer edge of the crust, a defined area. I find that often, my pizzas are more tidy when I do this.
